Practice of Christian Stewardship

Systematic Giving

Christian stewardship is the proportionate, systematic, sacrificial, and sacramental giving of our time, talents, and treasure to God in obedience to God’s word and in response to God’s redemptive love. Cathedral Church of the Nativity members have a strong tradition of giving within the Parish, to the Diocese and the National Church, and beyond. An annual Financial Canvas is conducted each fall.

Episcopal Relief and Development Fund

The mission of the church addresses the totality of human needs, both spiritual and physical. The specific purpose of the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund is to respond to the Christian imperative to minister to the hungry and thirsty, the sick and those in prison, to clothe the naked and welcome the stranger (Matthew 25). As it obeys the imperative to Christian ministry, the Fund assumes a responsibility to mobilize the full participation of the Church in a conscious effort to identify and attack the root causes of world poverty, and thereby performs a service to all people, rich and poor alike. The Fund touches the hearts of people whose lives have been uprooted by floods, hurricanes, famine, war, disease, violence, and poverty. It is a compassionate worldwide ministry of hope. Contributions to the Fund may be designated or undesignated donations. Kelly Smith, 610-882- 4141 is the Nativity Coordinator for the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund.
