Daughters of the King: Mary, Favored Daughter Chapter
Daughters of the King meet on Thursdays year-round at 7 PM in the Good Shepherd Chapel. They are a group of women dedicated to intercessory prayer and service for the spread of Christ’s kingdom. If you are interested in joining us, contact Sarah Norwine by calling the church office at 610-865-0727.
What happens to the homeless when temperatures drop to freezing has been a concern of the community for some time. In the winter of 1999 and 2000, with six other churches, we began providing overnight lodging and two meals (supper and breakfast) for the homeless. This ministry will be continued in the years ahead.

New Bethany Ministries
For twenty-five years, Nativity has supported this ecumenical ministry to the poor, the mentally ill, and the emotionally disturbed. Various types of housing opportunities are made available, breakfast and lunch are served five days a week, a food bank provides food on a regular basis, a service for managing the accounts of lower income persons is available, and other services are provided as needed. Volunteer support includes meal preparation, food donations, counseling services, clothing and shoes, school supplies, bus tickets, etc. Nativity recently purchased an old warehouse behind the church and has made it available for food storage.
ShareCare Faith in Action
ShareCare Faith in Action is located in the former rectory at Nativity. ShareCare coordinates volunteers to assist the elderly and disabled with various support services such as chores, visitations, shopping, yard work, respite care, transportation and light housekeeping.
People from the Cathedral serve at the New Bethany Meal Center once a month on the 1st Tuesday and on a fifth Friday, preparing and serving the noon meal. If you are interested in serving this ministry, please contact Jean Montgomery by calling the church office at 610-865-0727.
Nativity’s Better Buy Thrift Shop
Located in the undercroft of Nativity is the Better Buy Thrift Shop. This is an ecumenical ministry that sells used clothes, provides clothes at no cost to those in need, and uses earnings from this ministry to fund programs for youth in South Bethlehem. Parishioners are very active as volunteers in this ministry.
Homework Club – Welcome Place
During the academic year, on the ground floor of our parish hall, elementary children meet daily after school for fun, food and homework.
