Capital Campaign Closeout Report Oct 2016
October 12, 2016
Dear Cathedral Friends:
I am writing on behalf of the vestry and leadership of our “Carrying the Vision Forward” Campaign to express deep gratitude for the achievements of the Campaign as it comes to a close.
You will remember with me the critical need for restoration work to our Cathedral buildings, and some important improvements and upgrades to technology, HVAC, and facilities that enable the many ministries our physical spaces support.
I also remember the courage of the vestry and all of you who responded so generously even in the midst of one of the most challenging economic times our country has ever faced! Many in this community of faith stepped up and out in faith, not only helping us to raise necessary funds to pursue our campaign projects but also continuing to support our on-going mission through our annual budget and of course in the giving of your time and talent. I applaud you all and give thanks to God for this faithfulness.
The “Carrying the Vision Forward” campaign now officially comes to a close. Below please find a link to the summary report for your information. There of course still exist the need for the continuous upkeep and improvements of our physical assets and the leadership of the Cathedral continuously will keep those needs before us. In this moment, we pause to say thank God and thank you for the work we have been able to achieve through this campaign.
We are fortunate, more fortunate than many. I look forward to continuing in ministry with you all and invite your participation in the upcoming celebration of our 154th anniversary the weekend of November 5th and 6th. Get your tickets now for the Hurd breakfast lecture Saturday, November 5th and of course Sunday, November 6th at 10:30 a.m. for our anniversary celebration. The Rev. Austin Rios, Rector of St. Paul’s in the Walls, Rome Italy (our “sister parish”) will be our guest for the weekend.
The Very Rev. Tony Pompa
Dean & Rector
