Nativity Youth Camp Registration 2019 (Click here)
Completed registration forms should be returned to the church office.

All members of the Cathedral community over the age of 8 (having completed 2nd grade) are invited to attend camp as either a camper, counselor or adult staffer. There is no cost to campers to participate in camp Adult staffers must complete their criminal back ground checks and Safe Guarding God’s Children training before being allowed to participate on staff. Camp accommodations include single gender cabins with electricity, screened windows, and bunk beds. Youth counselors bunk in each cabin and adult staff in nearby cabins or the lodge. The expense of camp, which is approximately $690.00 per camper (which includes room, board and program for the week), is paid for out of the Cathedral’s budget and the date NYC

What Do We Do: Worship & Religious Education – We take time for prayer and religious education daily.  We celebrate Eucharist 4 times together including Sunday morning and mid-week at the Camp Choconut chapel and end our time Saturday morning with family and friends to give thanks for our time together in an outdoor Eucharist weather permitting.  Finally we lead the Cathedral in worship on Camp Sunday, June 23 with songs and reflections of our camp experience.  Activities include swimming, campfire, arts and crafts, basketball in the indoor gym, and games, games, and more games!  Olympic Games created by our youth and tournament games of kickball and softball are played by all ages.  All ages and abilities are cheered, encouraged and celebrated.  Camp Choconut is located on a lake with canoes available to the older youth.   And of course, what is camp without evening campfire.  Each night campers coordinate a campfire activity involving skits, songs, and other entertainment before bed, which is creative and always amusing. Finally we learn songs and hymns to share on Camp Sunday which are related to the religious education theme of the week. This and more including free time for arts and crafts, swings, board games or napping as needed.

Why We Do This: The Cathedral Church of the Nativity has had some form of Camp ministry for over 100 years. It began as a choir camp and has been transformed many times in the past century. We believe that our children and youth are our most treasured members of the community. We want to provide them with a safe and fun place to explore their faith and form friendships that will last a lifetime. NYC is one of our most intentional and successful ministries at the Cathedral Church of the Nativity and we hope to maintain it for another 100 years.
