Acolytes -
Young people ages ten and older who wish to contribute to the worship
And liturgy of the church and assist the Clergy are welcome to join this
group. They are trained by the Acolyte Master and serve approximately
once a month on a regular basis and at special services throughout the year.
Altar Guild -
The twelve monthly teams of the Cathedral Altar Guild serve in
a dedicated and faithful manner at all Sunday, mid-week, and
special
services, as well as weddings and funerals throughout the year.
Interested members who would like to dedicate themselves to this
ministry should contact the Dean.
Chalice Bearers -
Chalice Bearers are selected and trained by the Dean and licensed
by the Bishop. The schedule is arranged by the Dean.
Flowers -
The Sunday Flowers are offered as a memorial or in thanksgiving. If
you wish to make such an offering, please call the Cathedral office for
details. These flowers are lovingly made into small bouquets each
Monday morning by a group of volunteers. They are then taken to
those in the hospitals and nursing homes by the clergy or lay volunteers.
Individuals who like to work with flowers and would like to share in
this ministry will be welcomed. Easter and Christmas plants are also
delivered to the sick and homebound of the parish. |

Greeters -
Greeters welcome members and visitors at both the Narthex and near
the elevator in the slype at the 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM (10:00 AM in
summer) Services. Greeters are the first people to identify and
welcome newcomers to our Cathedral. If you would like to take part
in this pleasant activity please call the Dean.
Lay Eurcharistic Ministers -
Lay Eucharistic Ministers are selected and trained by the clergy. They
take communion to those who are unable to attend church.
Lectors -
Lectors read the lessons at both Sunday services. Lectors are selected
and trained by the clergy. Youth and adults are welcome.
Ushers -
Men, Women, youths, and family groups serve as ushers at all services
held at the Cathedral. This vital ministry welcomes new ushers.
Vergers -
Vergers are committed lay persons who are responsible for the orderly
conduct of the Cathedral worship. They are invited to serve by the
clergy.
