Join us for our first Adult Forum of the season!
Join us at 9:45 in the Dining Room on September 21st. Our guest speaker will be The Rev. Dr. Tony Tian-Ren Lin the Associate Director and Director of Research for the Center for Public Theology and Public Policy at Yale Divinity School.
His talk is The Church and the Future of Democracy. Observers of American politics have long noted the role of religion in American democracy. The United States is exceptional for the role of religion in her public life. Some of the greatest progress in justice and equality have come as a result of religious leaders yet some of the greatest oppression has also been justified by faith. Given this complicated history, how are Christians to be faithful today under our political condition? What is our responsibility towards a democratic system of government?
